Rules about Men

One for the guys

We're always hearing "the rules" from the feminine side. OK - well now hear the guys' side - These are our rules! Please note ... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down.

1. Birthdays, Valentines, and Anniversaries are not quests to see if we can find the perfect present yet again!

1. Sometimes, we are not thinking about you. Live with it.

1. Do not ask us what we are thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as navel lint, the shotgun formation, and NASCAR.

1. Sunday = sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be.

1. Shopping is NOT a sport, and no, we are never going to think of it that way.

1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine.
Really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work. Strong hints do not work. Obvious hints do not work. Just say it!

1. We don't remember dates. Mark birthdays and anniversaries on a calendar. Remind us frequently beforehand.

1. Most guys own three pairs of shoes - tops. What makes you think we'd be any good at choosing which pair, out of thirty, would look good with your dress?

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a doctor.

1. Check your oil! Please.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done - not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do we.

1. The relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out. Get over it. And quit whining to your girlfriends.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. We are not mind readers and we never will be. Our lack of mind-reading ability is not proof of how little we care about you.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

1. I'm in shape. - ROUND is a shape

My Hero by Cath

From: catherine47 - - - - Sent: 5/25/2002 11:08 AM
My hero, someone special, so very dear and near to me. She is unlike any hero that could ever be.
She has this incredible inner core of courage, remarkable strength that I have always depended and relied upon.
She helped me grow inside so very strong.
For a long time ago a serious illness infected her once so. Luekemia's a tough battle, too, she did know.
She fought such incredible odds, Over coming them with the greatest of strength.
Going the distance such the longest of length.
A little small hero I always looked up to.
Such courage and strength even today still see's me through.
At the lowest of times when life grew difficult, you eased my heart calming my fears.
Back long ago then and still now through the years.
My littlest hero, your my grown hero today.
How I love you the greatest in every single way.
For Gods blessed my life greatly with a hero as you.
You are the most courageous of heros to me, its so true. Though you know how much I love you, each tear shed and cried.
You always kept on going that much harder you tried, to be stronger focused, showing me always the way.
As you did way back then, as you do even today.

Online Friendships by cath

From: catherine47(Original Message) - - - - Sent: 5/11/2002 12:08 PM
Did you know how some new friendships  can begin to grow. Maybe others don't understand it as you and  I both know. I 've found that these unussual friendships start in a chat room its true. For thats how it began as I simply said hello to you. Did you know when you said hello back asking me, How are you? Where am I from that age, sex , and location lol thing we all do. Then time progresses forward we all became these awesome friends. The kind that care with ours hearts and  that never  I hope end. We talk daily about  this lifes hectic pace. Joke and torrment in fun with such  humerous grace. However really when its all been said and done. To you these special friends I first would choose so to run. I know if im hurting or happy or sad. Grring at msn getting  hot red faced and mad. Your always thier to pick me up. With your aww it will be ok, or to the hey was up. You always go that long extra mile. Did you know your each unique ,such class ,what style, making me happy as I leave the room with a smile. So then how can people that  can't relate, not undertsanding these chat room friendships like we do ever quite then know. For behind each nickname  such caring friendships do grow. Sadly I believe thier missing out greatly too. For online friends as you are far and few. I  think of you all as a family member you see. The kind who are so funny carefree. Real to the point and straight up true. Its how you love with your heart thats the real clue. For you each own a heart  that truly cares.  For I value such friedships  why thier precious and rare.

Awwwww Cath That was sooooooooo moving. It touched me deeply......
I would like to add that through good times and bad these friends will come through.
When there is a fight among friends it's like fighting with family. Let's remember that no matter what the cause of the fight may be, we are still family. And as a family we should forgive and forget the unkind words that may have been said. For we need each other in order to survive our daily struggles. Please let's remember that LOVE among friends and family is the greatest gift of all. Let's not allow a few hurtful words destroy our chat room family. Let's make up and hug each other!!

one last poem

From: grumpy (Original Message) - - - - Sent: 4/30/2002 9:01 PM

happiness is fleeting,
it comes and goes too fast.
i'm beginning to wonder
if true love can last.
she broke up with me
as a pre-emptive strike.
she thought i was dumping her
after a minor fight.
she must have underestimated
just how much i cared.
my heart i opened up to her,
to her my sould i bared.
i had fallen in love with her,
and now i'm feeling sorrow.
hand in hand i wanted her
facing all of life's tomorrows.
i gave her my devotion
without hesitation.
i gave her all my love
without reservation.
her happiness was my concern
she knew just how i felt.
all she had to do to me
was hold me and i'd melt.
i know she was in love with me,
i saw it in her eyes.
i never questioned her honesty,
she never told me lies.
but then when things were not so good,
and the road of life got rough
the tender steak of life we ate
suddenly got tough.
i was more committed to her
than she was to me.
but i know its over now,
my blinded eyes now see.
there's nothing left for me to do,
but sit and wonder why.
i realize the end has come,
i've no more tears to cry.

Hi Grumpy!
I must say I was touched my your poem. I could just feel every word as I read it. It makes u think of that "one that got away" and all the feelings involved within yourself. Great job!

thank you for your words of encouragement. i think i'm done writing for a while. you see, the writing is a reflection of the pain in my heart and soul, but i have since purged myself of all the pain and negativity that i was going thru. writing helped me do that, and now i feel healed and ready to move on with my life. i hold no ill will towards anyone. how could i expect jesus to forgive me of my sins if i don't forgive others the hurt they cause in my life. the only constant i have in life is my love of the lord.
